Sen. Barack Obama gave his formal acceptance speech at the DNC for his nomination of President of the United States. Ironically, his speech took place on the 45th anniversay of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" Speech at the March on Washington. Wow!, what an acceptance speech that was - clear, concise, and straight to the point!

It's a good thing it wasn't a *BIG* one, but cross our fingers that there won't be another one larger than the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that hit SoCal yesterday. Hope everything is okay up there in L.A. Glad we don't have much of those here in Hawaii. Stay safe!

Well, so much for Batman... The "Dark Knight" actor Christian Bale was arrested in London today for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister. He has not been officially charged, but this story is way too far from being over. Is this another family 'greed' story considering the film broke box office records or is it a valid accusation? We shall see...

Hey - check out my new restaurant that I just opened up in Redondo Beach, CA.
It's called Ortega120. Check it out at www.ortega120.com . Nah, I'm just kidding. But it really
is a new restaurant and it sounds like they got some great food and drinks there.
They specialize in modern Mexican food and also have a tequila list that runs 120 bottles deep!
Imagine that! Wow!
Just decided to pick up the new iPhone 3G today. Needed something new and exciting and got rid of the old Sprint/Nextel Direct Connect (DC) deal. Now I've got lots to learn, but that's the best part - learning something new every day. I *highly* suggest you pick one up. Once you get one, you won't even have any second thoughts about your old phone. Check it out at http://www.apple.com/iphone/
Wow take a look at this 12-year-old named Mimi Ausland. She started a trivia Web site to help feed homeless cats and dogs. She got the idea from a similar site called FreeRice.com It's basically a FREE site where anyone can visit to play the online trivia game. Whether or not you give a right or wrong answer, she will donate free kibbles to various Animal Shelters. What an awesome concept - why didn't I think of that? Visit her site at Freekibble.com today and see how you can help!
Well, what can I say? It's about time Nike? I guess it's better late than never. Nike has finally decided to produce their Air McFly sneakers that were originally shown in the age old movie Back to the Future 2. Yes, remember Michael J. Fox? But there's a catch - they only made 350 pairs so your best bet is probably eBay where you better be prepared to pay upwards of $1,200+. I guess after 20 years later inflation kicks in huh? Go figure.
Not sure if you watched the new Hancock movie yet, but there's a *twist* to it. I don't mean to spoil it for you so if you haven't watched it yet, I suggest you don't read the rest of the post. Well for those that know what I'm talking about, what a twist it was. Hancock and Mary Embrey are left alone in the kitchen for a brief moment. Then all of a sudden Hancock leans over to kiss Mary, then boom, she throws him through the wall in an instant. The twist is that Mary has the same or as stated in the movie (stronger) powers than Hancock himself.
UFC 86: Forrest Griffin Beats Rampage Jackson by Decision
Forrest Griffin surprises everyone by defeating Rampage Jackson in UFC 86. Rampage Jackson was a heavy favorite to win this fight, but Griffin pulled off the upset by decision. The fight went the full 5 rounds, but turned out to be a unanimous decision favoring Griffin. Rampage took the defeat like a man and admitted that "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose."
Ahh, the great 4th of July day - Independence Day. The day that commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain (UK). Please remember to give thanks and praise to those that sacrifice their lives for our freedom. Have fun and stay safe!
